Bedrooms
With an eye to detail and design, first class accommodation is provided for all residents. There are 41 beds available including two suites. The majority have excellent en-suite facilities. Each bedroom is well equipped and decorated to the high standard expected of a residential care home.
Bathrooms & Facilities
Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Lapal House also provides toilets close to its lounges and dining rooms. With a strong emphasis on independence and dignity, each toilet is equipped with aids to help residents. In addition, there are four well- appointed bathrooms having wet room shower facilities.
Housekeeping & Laundry Services
There is regular thorough cleaning of all private rooms and communal areas to maintain a hygienic, spotless environment.
A comprehensive laundry service is carried out on site using commercial equipment and is included within the Lapal House fee structure. Dry cleaning fees are charged extra.

Dining
There are two dining areas, one on the ground floor of the main building and the other in The Lodge. Tables are beautifully presented, restaurant style. Every chair is upholstered for added support and comfort.
Lapal House prides itself on its high standard of fare. A menu from skilled cooks caters for individual tastes and needs and particular attention is paid to providing nutritious well balanced meals, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Special diets for cultural, religious or medical reasons are catered for and drinks and snacks are available at any time during the day or night. Residents may dine in their own rooms if they wish. There is also a private dining room where visitors may reserve a table to dine separately or with the resident they are visiting.
Lifts
Lapal House is equipped with a passenger lift to the first floor, while The Lodge has the benefit of two stair-lifts as well as a passenger lift. Two members of staff are always on hand to help those using the stair-lifts.
Telephones & Television
Residents may have telephones installed in their rooms which will be provided by Lapal House, however running costs are payable by the resident. Those not wishing to take up this option may prefer to use the public telephone and receive incoming calls through the home's switchboard. Televisions are provided in each room and satellite television is available.
Ramps
Wherever possible Lapal House ensures the mobility of its residents with ramped access to the main areas within the building.
Smoking
Lapal House is a non-smoking home, but an area has been set aside for those wishing to smoke.
Safety & Security
Safety is paramount. All furniture is flame resistant/retardant and staff undergo rigorous specialist training every six months. The fire evacuation procedure is well rehearsed.
Car Parking
Ample car parking is provided for visitors' use. No liability is accepted for loss or damage while using the car parks.
Garden
Lapal House is situated within a spectacular five acre landscaped garden, punctuated with paths that fan out from the great lawn to the less formal wooded areas of the grounds. Wild deer visit and rabbits and birds are in abundance. Benches punctuate paths in safe wooded walks so that residents and their visitors can stop to take in their beautiful surroundings.
On bright sunny days residents can sit at tables on the great lawn or the terrace, stroll in the grounds or take in the views from any of the home's vantage points. Even in winter the grounds have their own beauty.
